This talented duo has been creating impactful narrative and documentary projects for over 15 years, including the anti-child trafficking documentary <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt3647434\/\"><em>The Abolitionists<\/em><\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt13840624\/\"><em>Waterman<\/em><\/a>, a project celebrating the legacy of a legendary Hawaiian surfer. Their work goes beyond filmmaking: they\u2019re deeply invested in the next generation of storytellers through <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sneakonthelot.com\/\"><em>Sneak on the Lot<\/em><\/a>, a groundbreaking education platform that teaches teachers and students filmmaking hands-on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Fletch and Chet bring a rich professional background to their work with young filmmakers. Fletch started his career as a storyboard artist, \u201cThe objective is to try and capture on paper what a director has in their head,\u201d he explained. Meanwhile, Chet began his journey by learning the ropes of story development and producing, \u201cMy career started at DreamWorks, shuffling scripts and working in story development. Eventually, it turned creative, and I had a hand in finding scripts for the next big DreamWorks hit.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Their unique paths eventually intersected, leading them to co-direct projects. Fletch\u2019s eye for visuals and Chet\u2019s knack for working with actors give them a dynamic on set that audiences feel on screen. For a recent project, <em>Mystic Hollow<\/em>, Chet was able to take a second unit down the street while Fletch coordinated the first team \u2014 something single directors can\u2019t easily do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"700\" height=\"350\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/odK1UdnUaQM?si=eZs7FZplfqz0xjf8\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Building Sneak on the Lot: Where Passion Meets Impact<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">The story of <em>Sneak on the Lot<\/em> began as a response to the tragedy of the Columbine shooting. Fletch recalled how, soon after the tragedy, he felt a pull to make a difference. \u201cMy brother was a high school teacher, and I asked him if I could give his students an assignment to express what they were feeling,\u201d he shared. What came back were raw, unfiltered responses, some revealing students close to the edge. \u201cI knew then that we had to do something.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">That \u201csomething\u201d became <em>Sneak on the Lot<\/em>, a platform that doesn\u2019t just teach filmmaking but gives students a voice. Over time, <em>Sneak on the Lot<\/em> has evolved into workshops for teachers and students, a curriculum, and an immersive, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sneakon.com\/\">3D Hollywood backlot experience<\/a> where students can walk around, and talk to industry characters. It\u2019s a gamified approach, yet rooted in reality \u2014 students gain skills, build portfolios, and even compete for real opportunities on actual productions. \u201cIf making movies gives kids a way to express themselves without a weapon, we\u2019re doing something right,\u201d Fletch said, summarizing the mission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Empowering Teachers and Students with SkillsUSA<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Beyond student engagement, Fletch and Chet have also become significant contributors to <a href=\"http:\/\/skillsusa.com\">SkillsUSA<\/a>, serving as committee chairs for the Digital Cinema program. SkillsUSA allows high school students to engage in industry-standard film competitions and conferences. \u201cIn past years, we were just judges. Now, we\u2019re fully invested in making this a professional experience for these kids,\u201d said Chet, adding that COVID allowed them to transition SkillsUSA into a virtual film festival where students could submit polished films made on their home turf. This approach gives students more time to showcase their skills and turns SkillsUSA into a platform that can help students build meaningful portfolios. \u201cI\u2019ve never been a fan of 48-hour film festivals,\u201d Fletch said that he can\u2019t complete a film in 48 hours, so why should kids? \u201cEspecially for kids who need time to bring their ideas to life.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>A New Christmas Classic in the Making: <\/strong><strong><em>The Best Christmas Pageant Ever<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Amidst their educational work, Fletch and Chet have also been busy with their latest film, <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/SlB3K_PS7Hc?si=ClFyS3fM6UrBGDs3\"><em>The Best Christmas Pageant Ever<\/em><\/a>, which hits theaters on November 8th. Based on Barbara Robinson\u2019s beloved holiday story, this adaptation is directed by Dallas Jenkins, creator of the acclaimed series <em>The Chosen<\/em>. As Chet shared, \u201cDallas had been asking us for 13 years to direct the movie, and after the success of <em>The Chosen<\/em>, we finally felt he was the right guy to bring this story to life.\u201d Featuring stars like Lauren Graham, Judy Greer, and comedian Pete Holmes, it\u2019s a heartwarming story set to become a new holiday favorite. \u201cWe\u2019ve put 15 years into this film, and we\u2019re incredibly proud of the final result,\u201d said Fletch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The Future Vision of Sneak on the Lot: A Hollywood Metaverse<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">As Fletch and Chet look ahead, they\u2019re more committed than ever to growing <em>Sneak on the Lot<\/em> into a full-fledged Hollywood metaverse. Students and aspiring filmmakers will soon have the chance to \u201csneak on\u201d the virtual lot, where they can interview characters, unlock achievements, and even earn opportunities to work on Fletch Chet Entertainment\u2019s real-life productions.
